Meet The Trainer

Hello! I’m Kayla, and dogs have been my absolute passion since I was a child. Understanding their body language and behavior has always come naturally to me. Dogs hold a special place in my heart, and I am dedicated to improving their lives through training and behavior modification. Having graduated from Animal Behavior College, specializing in basic obedience and positive reinforcement training, I have a solid foundation in understanding canine behavior and effective training methodologies. This education has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to address behavioral challenges and help dogs become well-behaved and balanced companions. To further enhance my skills, I attended a seminar called “Aggression vs. Sociability” by Sue Sternberg. This eye-opening seminar helped me fine-tune my abilities in interpreting dog body language and better understand the intricate dynamics of aggression and sociability in dogs. For over seven years, I have been volunteering as a trainer at Berea Animal Rescue and Friends. This meaningful role has given me invaluable hands-on experience in working with shelter dogs, addressing their behavior challenges, and increasing their chances of finding loving forever homes. As part of the “Through the Leash Dog Behavior and Training” team, I bring my lifelong passion for dogs, the knowledge gained from my education, and the expertise acquired through my volunteer work. I am here to offer professional guidance and personalized training programs, empowering dog owners to build strong and positive relationships with their furry companions. Together, we can create a world where dogs receive the love, care, and understanding they deserve.
